A S6 Biology field trip was held on 29-30 November 2010. Instead of mere theory and textbook information, students should acquire hand-on experience to conduct a field study and have a close look on those precious biotic factors live around us. This is the first time for S6 students to participate in an ecological field trip in freshwater stream. They are curious about all those stream larva and insects, it is revealed from their excited response when they collected data of biotic factors (distribution of larva, variety of insects, etc) in the field sites. In the group presentation in the 2nd day, a great appreciation on adaptive features of living organisms was shown from their data analysis and sharing. I am happy with their discovery on the wonder of life. Both teachers and students gained a valuable memory in the field trip.
